This month we went to the Nanjing University to saw the Wu Weishan exhibit.Wu Weishan is the art professor of the University. He is the Chinese Artists Association and the Chinese Academy of sculpture.

The sculpture museum have a lot of his artwork, such as Qi Baishi , Lao Zi and some other famous person. My favourite artwork is the Sleeping Baby.It was made in 1998.This is the figure's statue. It made from curve and it touch smoothly. This artwork makes me feel comfortable and peaceful. The baby represents the peaceful world. The baby is tranquil. It reminds me of children. This artwork has smooth lines. The facial expression is natural. It has the artist's emotion. This artwork has simple feelings.

This sculpture at the Royal Show in the British Royal Green Award presented climbing. This is the first Asian artists to receive this international award.Sleeping baby focus on the artists of the world desire peace. He believes that a child's world is a better pure, there is no utilitarian. Wu works for the harmony of nature and the world. The baby is close eyes and open his mouth. He is very lovely. For everyone to bring a strong visual impact. The children sleep gives us a very natural feeling. We felt very comfortable.Children are always the most pure, there is no flaw.

I like this sculpture exhibition, there are many different types of artwork. The production works very carefully. They expressed different meaning, the artist showed us another way of sculpture.

These works is different from the Western sculpture. It has China's traditional culture spirit of the performance of Oriental philosophy, aesthetics with the overall observation and thinking. I think it is very interesting. It can teach us mang knowledge about sculpture.

Chinese sculpture similar to the Chinese oil painting, a foreign art form. Western-style sculptures can be a quick study by the Chinese people, to master the use of the art means to express thoughts and feelings of people in China. We should abso
rb the experience of the West, after a long-term study to make the artwork.Wu Weishan for the freehand brushwork is a subjective feelings of the Chinese. To leading the real life, this is Wu Weishan for the understanding of sculpture. His sculpture of traditional Chinese spirit of the modern interpretation to create a remote access not only the ancient Chinese sculptures of freehand brushwork and filled with the spirit of humanism and romanticism, deep inner style sculpture.

I think this a good learning experience.I want to go to more exhibition to learn about this knowledge. I will unforgettable this visit.

LANDSCAPE GARDEN

Last week , we have listened a speech about the landscape garden of Suzhou.

The speaker is the professor of the Nanjing Forestry University. He has published many theses about the landscape. He introduced the art of landscape architecture.

Classical Chinese garden design, which seeks to recreate natural landscapes in miniature, is nowhere better illustrated than in the nine gardens in the historic city of Suzhou.

When Suzhou is mentioned, the first thought in every Chinese mind is of its gardens. It is said that the gardens to the south of Yangtze River are the best in the world, and Suzhou gardens are the best among them. Suzhou is known in particular for its classical gardens. Suzhou gardens are most glistening gems among China's tourist attractions. The history of the classical gardens of Suzhou can be traced back to 6 BC. By the time of the Ming and Qing dynasties, Suzhou City had become a garden city with more than 200 gardens. Chinese landscaped gardens, on the other hand, put more emphasis on the idea of harmony between heaven and Earth, a salient feature of Chinese philosophy. The gardens of Suzhou are actually a manmade landscape. It is impossible to move mountains, they built rock gardens. Water is another of the gardens' crucial features. But to bring water to the gardens, it is necessary to either make use of an already-existing pond or stream, or dig into the ground. In any case, the designers must know how to open trenches and make water flow through them, to create and then re-unite the branches of a river. The masters of Suzhou excelled in this art. Rivers mean bridges. The gardens of Suzhou are dotted with all manner of miniature stone and wooden spans.

The construction of gardens in Suzhou were mostly owned by individuals obsessed with a tranquil and nature-friendly environment. There are around trees and flowers .I think the gardens designed very beautiful. The designers wants to tell us we should protect our world and with wisdom to create wealth.

This speech made me unforgettable.I look forward to the next presentation.
